Richard A. Blath, M.D.


Dr. Richard Blath joined St. Louis Urological Surgeons in 1978. A native of St. Louis, Dr. Blath attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where he graduated with honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at Washington University, and then served his internship at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his surgical and urology training at Washington University/Barnes Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He was board certified in urology in 1978. Dr. Blath is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.


Dr. Blath served in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1978 and served as chief of the Urology Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Hospital, in Dayton, Ohio.


Dr. Blath provides a full rage of Urological care to his patients, and he has special interest in the areas of incontinence, prostate disease, and infertility. Dr. Blath is one of the few surgeons in the St. Louis area who performs vasectomy reversal surgery.


Dr. Blath serves as a member of the board of directors of the Barnes Jewish Christian Health System. He has served as chief of the medical Staff and chief of Surgery at Christian Hospital Northeast.


Dr. Blath is married with two children and three grandchildren, and his interests include skiing, golf, travel and gardening.  He is an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
